Frequently Asked Questions

Here is a list of my most frequently asked questions about me, what I offer and what I teach.

If you have more questions, feel free to shoot me an email!

A little about me!

My name is Emma Collett, I am a Certified Sleep Consultant based in Salt Lake City, Utah though I help families all over the world! My husband and I have been married for almost 5 years and we have a 1 year old little girl who we are obsessed with! I have lived in several different states in the US but claim the PNW as where I grew up. I enjoy listening to audiobooks or true crime podcasts and my idea of fun is to have a game night with my husband and friends! I have loved this stage of being a first time mom and love to be at the zoo or on a walk with my little family.

What are your qualifications?

I am a Certified Sleep Consultant for infants and toddlers 0-4 years old. I was certified through “Baby Sleep Consultant” based in New Zealand. I also studied infant and child development at university and received my Associate’s Degree on top of years of childcare experience and a deep love for babies and sleep!

What kinds of problems can you help with?

I can help with a wide variety of sleep problems. I’ll try to name as many as I can! Short naps, early morning wake ups, getting on a schedule, changing the schedule, dropping naps, false starts at bedtime, overnight wake ups, nutrition affecting sleeping, dropping overnight feeds, sleep regressions, keeping toddlers in their bed, bedtime battles, split nights, teaching self settling skills (sleep training), moving away from contact naps/feeding to sleep, and more.

What kinds of services do you offer?

I currently offer a 30 minute troubleshooting call, pre recorded sleep classes and one on one support packages. All are great resources depending on the severity of the sleep problems, how much guidance you're needing and your price point.

My 30 minute troubleshooting call is great for mild to moderate sleep problems such early morning wake ups, schedule tweaks, eliminating a wake up overnight or short naps. We hop on the phone and together we can quickly run through your situation so I can offer you some suggestions to try and resolve the problems. This is also a great opportunity to ask questions and get some personalized advice for your child.

My one on one support packages come with a comprehensive and customized sleep plan to help solve mild to severe sleep problems. Problems with inconsistent schedules, excessive wake ups overnight, reverse cycling (eating more overnight than during the day), sleep training, moving away from co sleeping, fighting bedtime or naps and more. I offer three packages and they come with varying degrees of support from me from a call to get started to a week of text support.

What are your sleep classes like and what is included?

I currently have four sleep classes available. 0-16 weeks, 4-7 months, 8-12 months and 12-18 months. Each class is taught by me, ready to purchase and download right now! I walk through sleep expectations and common problems for this age group. For the 4-18 month sleep classes I teach two different sleep training techniques, and for the newborn class I teach a technique for gradually practicing independent sleep. All classes come with multiple sample schedules for the age group for you to reference and print. I also have a short early morning wake ups class available! You can always pair a sleep class with a troubleshooting call to ask questions and get individualized help.

Where are you located and how can we get in touch?

I am located in the United States but I can help families all over the world! If you sign up for a consultation and you’re outside of the U.S., we will have a Zoom call instead of a phone call. My classes are available everywhere as well! If you’re trying to get in touch, feel free to send me an email, emmacollett729@gmail.com.

What is the difference between your different support packages?

Each of my support packages include access to all my sleep classes, a customized plan and an hour long call to get started. From there, the difference comes with how much follow up support you get from me after our initial call going over the sleep plan.

Cloudy Plan:

Do you teach "Cry it Out" sleep training techniques?

In my experience, all sleep training techniques do involve a bit of crying because children are often frustrated they're not going to sleep they are used to. We're changing sleep associations, and that can lead to some protesting! BUT I do absolutely everything I can to limit how much crying there is when we work together or you take one of my classes. I put a lot of emphasis on setting the stage for your child to be successful so they can catch on quickly. Sleep training when done correctly will not impact your child's attachment to you because you are being consistent with them and building their confidence in themselves. Sleep training is simply taking a step back and allowing your child to learn some self settling skills! That being said, I always do give you the option to do either a technique where you stay in the room or do check ins depending on which you're most comfortable. I will help you choose what technique will work best with your child's temperament and personality. In each of my classes I give options and tips for whichever technique you choose.
